BOXELDER BUGS

The boxelder bug (Boisea trivittata) is a North American species of true bug. They are primarily found on boxelder trees which is their primary food source. The adults are about ½ inch long with a dark brown or black coloration as well as red wing veins.

Are They Dangerous?

The boxelder bug is not dangerous to people but has been known to bite.  They are more of a nuisance pest, congregating inside and outside of structures.

How Do You Get Rid of Boxelder Bugs?
